Stephen King Book Jacket Series Design
This project centers on creating a minimalist book jacket series for three iconic Stephen King novels: The Shining, It, and Carrie. The goal was to focus on typography to convey the eerie and psychological elements of each story, with minimal visual elements.
For The Shining, bold, jagged type reflects the isolation and madness within the Overlook Hotel. It features playful yet unsettling balloon-inspired lettering, capturing the dual nature of the novel’s terror. Carrie uses classic serif typography with subtle red ink splatters, hinting at the story’s violent climax.
Each design is unique but unified through a clean, minimal approach, allowing typography to tell the story. The series feels cohesive through restrained color choices and an emphasis on the power of text to evoke mood, creating a contemporary and timeless collection.
